Inpresence™ Privacy & Safety Policy

Consumer Wellbeing Data Privacy Policy

Last Updated: October 15, 2026

We value your trust and take the privacy of your emotional, mental, and physical wellness tracking seriously. Because this application tracks nervous system states and personal reflections, we provide this specialized Consumer Health Data Privacy Policy to explain transparently how we handle your data.

1. Consumer Wellbeing Data We Collect

To power your experience, we collect information that you directly input into the application, which may include:

  • •Nervous System Tracking: Daily or situational somatic states chosen by you (e.g., “Activated & On Edge,” “Shut Down & Disconnected,” “Present & Clear”).
  • •Journal Entries: Free-text descriptions, thoughts, themes, and emotional histories you write using our journaling engine. Journal entries are stored only on your device in browser or app local storage, encrypted at rest using AES-GCM with a device-local key. They are never transmitted to or stored on our servers. This is not hardware-backed key storage, and protection cannot be guaranteed against someone or software with access to your unlocked device. They cannot be recovered if you lose your device or delete the app.
  • •Account Credentials: Your name, email address, and authentication details to secure your account.
  • •Payment & Transaction Data: When you purchase a subscription on our website, our payment processor (Stripe) collects and processes your payment card and transaction data. We do not store full card numbers on our servers; we retain only transaction receipts and billing records necessary for account management and regulatory compliance. These records are retained on our secure backup servers for the period required by law or our company retention policy, as described in the Terms of Use (Section 4-D).
  • •Session & Progress Data: Records of your regulation sessions (protocol used, duration, nervous-system state before and after, effectiveness rating), content you have read or completed, bookmarks, streak counts, game progress, and scheduled reminders. This data is stored on our servers and linked to your account.
  • •Relationship & Sharing Data: Relationship profiles you create (name, age, challenges, strengths, goals), linked-account pairings (caregiver–survivor, Circle of Care members, clinician–client), and your sharing toggle preferences. This data is stored on our servers.
  • •Feedback: Messages you submit through the in-app feedback button, stored verbatim with an AI-generated summary on our servers and delivered to our team for review.
  • •Compliance & Safety Records: Consent logs, terms-acceptance records, age-verification tokens, and account-linked risk metadata events recorded by the Safety Shield. These are retained on our secure backup servers even after account deletion, as required by law or our retention policy.

2. How We Use Your Data

We use your consumer health data exclusively to:

  • •Display your personal tracking history and trends visually back to you.
  • •Provide tailored educational content, reflections, and insights based on your self-reported data.
  • •Record account-linked risk metadata when the on-device Safety Shield flags acute distress, so our compliance team is aware of the event.
  • •Process feedback you submit through the in-app feedback button and deliver it to our team.
  • •Enable clinician and Practice Lead oversight of aggregate client progress for professionally paired accounts.
  • •Maintain, secure, and debug the technical infrastructure of the app.

We never sell, rent, lease, or monetize your wellbeing tracking data or journal entries to data brokers, ad networks, or third-party marketing companies.

3. How Your Data is Shared

Your data is strictly restricted. We only share it with third parties under the following conditions:

  • •Infrastructure Processors: With cloud infrastructure, database hosting, and security services strictly necessary to operate the application. These processors are contractually bound to protect your data.
  • •User-Initiated Sharing: If you choose to share your data (such as downloading a summary report to give to your own therapist or coach), we facilitate this entirely at your explicit direction. We do not automatically connect to or transmit data to outside healthcare providers.
  • •Legal Requirements: If required by a binding legal subpoena, court order, or to prevent immediate physical harm to yourself or others.
  • •Linked Accounts: If you link your account with a caregiver, survivor, Circle of Care member, or clinician, the specific aggregate metrics and co-regulation data defined by your sharing toggles are visible to those linked users. Your journal entries are never shared. See the Terms of Use (Section 8) for details.
  • •Clinician & Practice Lead Oversight: If your account is paired with a professional user or belongs to an organization, your assigned clinician and Practice Lead may view your aggregate progress charts and session summaries. In an emergency, a Practice Lead may invoke the audited Break-Glass protocol described below to access a read-only snapshot of your profile and recent sessions.

The analytical models used for your safety are generated locally on your device. We do not aggregate your writing patterns into a global model; your safety baseline is yours alone and is never shared across our user base.

4. Your Control and Individual Rights

You retain absolute ownership over your wellness reflections. At any time, you can log into your account settings to:

  • •Review & Correct: Modify past account parameters or information.
  • •Cancel Your Subscription: Stop future recurring billing while keeping your account and historical data intact. Open Settings → Manage account in the app to reach the Stripe Customer Portal. Canceling a subscription does not delete your account; see the Terms of Use (Section 5-C) for details.
  • •Delete Your Account: Permanently erase your server-side profile, tracking data, and linked-account relationships from our production databases. Account deletion also cancels any active subscription as part of the deletion process. Journal entries stored in your device’s local storage are not erased by account deletion; they remain on your device until you clear local app data or remove the app. Deletion is permanent and cannot be undone; it is a separate action from canceling a subscription (Terms of Use, Sections 4-D and 14-A).
  • •Withdraw Consent: Revoke your consent to data processing. Withdrawing consent does not by itself cancel an active subscription; to stop future billing, cancel your subscription as described above or delete your account.

5. Security and Data Protection

We employ robust administrative and technical safeguards to keep your data secure. This includes encrypting communication channels via HTTPS/TLS 1.3 and utilizing data security protocols designed to prevent unauthorized access, exposure, or breaches. Your journal entries are encrypted at rest on your device using AES-GCM encryption with a device-local key stored in the same device’s browser or app storage. This is not hardware-backed key storage, and we cannot guarantee protection from someone or software with access to your unlocked device or browser profile. We do not retain a copy of your encryption key.

6. Contact and Grievances

For subscription cancellation and account deletion procedures, see the Terms of Use (Sections 4-D, 5-C, and 14-A). If you have any questions, wish to exercise your rights to delete your data, or believe your consumer wellbeing privacy has been compromised, please contact our privacy officer directly at .

The Inpresence Safety Shield

Your well-being is the foundation of your Inpresence journey. Our platform includes an automated feature we call the Inpresence Safety Shield.

How it works

The Safety Shield runs locally on your device in supported journal and reflection features, performing a private, real-time check of your text for indicators of acute distress (such as self-harm or imminent violence). Screening coverage may vary by feature and does not cover every text input in the app.

Your Privacy is First

  • •Local Storage: Your journal entries are stored only on your device, encrypted at rest. No human, including our staff, can read your journal entries through our servers.
  • •On-Device Processing: The analysis happens entirely on your phone. Your private thoughts never leave your device unless you explicitly choose to share them.

Emergency Support Protocol

In the rare instance the Safety Shield detects language indicating a potential threat to your safety or the safety of others, the app will pause your session to:

  • •Provide you with immediate access to professional crisis resources and support hotlines. These are user-initiated; the app does not automatically dial emergency services on your behalf.
  • •Record an account-linked risk metadata event (category, severity, intervention code, context, and timestamp) so our compliance team is aware of the event. Your journal text is never sent.

Breaking the Seal

Our Compliance Team does not have access to your journal data, which is stored only on your device. The Break-Glass protocol is a separate, audited access workflow available to designated Practice Leads and platform administrators. It accesses selected server-side profile details and recent session summaries — not your local journal entries. When Break-Glass is invoked, email notifications are sent to the other Practice Leads in your organization and to your assigned clinician (if you have one), so they are aware of the access. Every instance is permanently logged in an independent compliance audit trail. The recording of a risk metadata event does not guarantee that a human reviewer will see it, that Break-Glass will be invoked, or that an emergency intervention will occur. The Service is not monitored as an emergency service.

Safety Shield: Data Handling Details

Last Updated: October 15, 2026

This section provides additional detail on how the Safety Shield processes your data while maintaining strict privacy boundaries.

1. What is Scanned and Why

The Safety Shield checks your text locally on your device in supported journal and reflection features for indicators of severe distress, self-harm, or potential danger to others. This check happens before the text is saved, entirely on your device. Screening coverage may vary by feature and does not cover every text input in the app. The purpose is to offer immediate, life-saving resources if you are in an acute crisis.

2. What Leaves Your Device

Your journal text never leaves your device. When the Safety Shield is triggered, only a metadata signal is sent to our servers. This signal includes:

  • •Risk category (e.g., self-harm, harm to others)
  • •Risk severity (low, medium, or high)
  • •Intervention code (an internal label for the type of trigger)
  • •Context (e.g., “journal” or “crisis” — where the text was composed)
  • •Your account identifier — the signal is linked to your account so our compliance team can follow up. It is not anonymous.

No journal text, excerpts, or matched phrases are ever sent, stored on our servers, or included in the safety signal.

3. No Chat Monitoring

Inpresence does not have a chat feature. The Safety Shield does not monitor communications between users. It scans only the text you compose in journal entries and reflection prompts, and only on your device.

4. What Happens When a Trigger Occurs

If the Safety Shield detects a severe safety risk, it will:

  • •Offer immediate resources: Display crisis hotlines and support resources directly in the app. These are user-initiated; the app does not automatically dial emergency services on your behalf.
  • •Record a metadata event: An account-linked risk metadata event (category, severity, intervention code, context, and timestamp) is recorded. Your text is not sent.
  • •Allow you to continue: The intervention is choice-first. You can dismiss it and continue writing. The metadata event is recorded regardless, so our team is aware of the event, but your text remains on your device.

5. Limitations

The Safety Shield is a safety net, not a therapist or doctor. It does not constitute medical advice, psychological counseling, or diagnostic therapy. It cannot replace professional mental health treatment or emergency medical services. The automated screening may not identify every instance of crisis, and the Company disclaims any warranty regarding its capacity to do so.

Disclaimer: Scope of Inpresence Platform

This application is an educational and self-reflection wellness tool. It does not diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any psychological, neurological, or medical condition. This tool does not provide clinical therapy or medical advice, and it does not replace the care of a licensed healthcare professional. If you are experiencing a mental health crisis, please contact local emergency services or a crisis hotline immediately.
